How many groups are there?

Each meeting there are two main groups: those with, or suspecting, a mood disorder; and those friends, family, in support. Group size will vary meeting to meeting according to attendance.

Who leads the groups?

Groups are not led by anyone. At minimum one trained peer-facilitator will accompany the group. The group is just that, a group of individuals coming together to share, offer support, learn and grow. Respect and kindness are expected. The facilitator is a peer and therefore also a member of the group, available to help keep the discussion, moving, focused and engaged.

Is there a medical professional on site?

Unless asked to come to the group and share their expertise, or engage in an activity agreed upon by the group, there are no clinicians engaged to assist the groups on site. We do have the generous support of Dr. Debbie Lang, psychologist, a member of the board, and available for consultation to the board.
